In a ceremony in late January 2006, the United States Mint celebrated the release of the Nevada quarter. The ceremony marked the release of the thirty-sixth state to be celebrated as part of the 50 State Quarters® Program. Nevada's coin features wild stallions, snow-capped mountains and the sun, bordered by sagebrush and a banner that reads "The Silver State."
