United States Mint Sculptor-Engravers

Current United States Mint Sculptor-Engravers

The United States Mint employs an elite team of sculptor-engravers who are entrusted with creating designs and sculptural models for the production of the Nation's coins and medals.

All the United States Mint sculptor-engravers ( John M. Mercanti, Norman E. Nemeth, Don Everhart, Charles L. Vickers, Joseph Menna, Phebe Hemphill, Jim Licaretz and Michael Gaudioso ) work at the Philadelphia Mint Facility, the only Mint facility that engraves the designs of United States coins and medals.  You can also take a Virtual Tour and learn all about the United States Mint's coin making process.

Learn how coins and medals are designed and manufactured.
