What is the Artistic Infusion Program?
The Artistic Infusion Program (AIP) is a United States Mint program which enlists professional artists to submit designs for the next generation of American coins. Artists may be asked to submit several designs throughout the year. Artists of selected designs are named as designer in historical documents, Certificates of Authenticity and promotional materials. The artists' initials are also featured on the coins, which can remain in circulation for several decades. Artists may work from anywhere and will receive $2,000 for each assigned design submission and an additional $5,000 for each design selected for a coin.

Who Should Apply
Artists in the Artistic Infusion Program must be United States Citizens. Applicants should be professional artists, illustrators or designers who are willing to meet deadlines and make edits to their work. In addition, artists should have a familiarity with computer-based art techniques such as Photoshop or Illustrator.

When to Apply
The Artistic Infusion Program accepts applications on a rolling basis, with cutoffs for review throughout the year. To find the next deadline for applications, please see the "News and Announcements" on the right-hand side of this page.

How to Apply
After requesting an application (click "Apply Now" at the bottom of this page and enter a valid email address) an automatic email will be sent which contains the AIP application as well as instructions for how to upload your application online. Applications should be submitted as a complete PDF which contains all required elements in the order which is listed in the application.

How does selection occur?
An official panel reviews the applications after each deadline using the evaluation criteria which is detailed within the AIP application. Applicants are encouraged to strongly examine these criteria before beginning the application process.
