Joel Iskowitz

Designer

Joel Iskowitz has created artwork for three decades with a body of work that includes paintings, book covers, periodicals, journals, public spaces, coins and postage stamps worldwide. His artwork proliferates the collections of many United States government institutions and museums, including the United States Air Force, NASA, the Smithsonian Institution's National Museum of American History, the Abraham Lincoln Presidential Museum, the New York Historical Society Museum, the U.S. Capitol's Emancipation Hall, The Museum of American Illustration and the Carenten Historical Society Museum in France. Mr. Iskowitz is one of few living artists to have had his artwork displayed in the Pentagon, the Capitol and the White House. His coin designs have been featured on gold medals presented to astronauts, flown on space missions on silver dollars, and, like his other art, earned him numerous awards and nominations for national and international honors.

Mr. Iskowitz's work has been featured in many international journals, including profiles of his numismatic and philatelic art in CoinAGE Magazine, Watercolor Magazine, American Artist Magazine, and Smithsonian Profiles; and his murals have been featured in Exhibit Builder Magazine.

Mr. Iskowitz continues to present his artwork in illustrated lectures at universities and professional organizations, including the Fashion Institute of Technology, Syracuse University, Marywood College, The Society of Illustrators, The School of Visual Arts, Fordham University, Hunter College, Montclair State University, and the New York Numismatic Club.
