These proof and uncirculated gold coins are being struck as a part of the First Spouse Gold Coin series. The obverse of the Letitia Tyler Gold Coin, designed and sculpted by United States Mint Sculptor-Engraver Phebe Hemphill, features a portrait of Letitia Tyler. The reverse, designed by United States Mint Artistic Infusion Master Designer Susan Gamble and sculpted by United States Mint Sculptor-Engraver Norman Nemeth, depicts Letitia Tyler with her children at the Cedar Grove Plantation where they were born.
