With the new state quarters, there are nine coins in a 1999 date collection!

It's a 1999 date collection—one of each coin the United States Mint made that year.  The number of coins needed for a date set changes.  For example, a complete 1998 date collection has five coins—not nine.  Why are there more coins in a 1999 set?  Because of the new 50 State Quarters^™ Program!
