Looking for a picture of an old coin? How about a new coin? Maybe a person from the history of the United States Mint?
You might find what you're looking for in the Teachers' Library! Bill the Mint Buffalo has been tidying up there lately, and has added the nickels from the Westward Journey Nickel Series™ and the quarters from the 50 State Quarters Program® to the collection.
Bill has made the Library easier to search and added links to related items and features. If you've been there before, it's time for another look! (The Library is in the Teachers section, but anyone can use it!)

More Fun! More Facts!
You do know about Fun Facts, right? They appear in the little bubble in the upper right corner of each page here at the United States Mint H.I.P. Pocket Change™ Web site. By clicking on the bubble, you can see the story behind the fact, and even the whole collection of Fun Facts, ten per page. Each month, a new fact is added to the collection. You can keep going back and finding new noteworthy nuggets...or just catch them as they randomly appear on the pages!

New Life for the Old Mint
What's that beautiful building still standing after 100 years and several major earthquakes? It's the former home of the United States Mint at San Francisco! On the year of the 100th anniversary of the Great Earthquake and Fires (2006), two special commemorative coins honor this San Francisco treasure and help it to become a city museum.

A Gateway to Nifty Nickels
The Westward Journey Nickel Series™ has given the nation great reminders of our history on our five-cent coins. If you've been reading the stories of these designs, you may be ready to take the H.I.P. Pocket Change "Know Your Nickels" quiz! The quiz lives on a page called "Nifty Nickels" along with lots of links to other nickel-related stories, activities, and games. Check it out!

Quarter of the Quarter: South Dakota
For fall, the Making Cents spotlight turns to the South Dakota quarter, 40th quarter in the 50 State Quarters® Program. This state has chosen images for its quarter that speak of the state's agriculture (wheat), wildlife (pheasant), and tourism (Mount Rushmore National Monument). Read stories about each of these images on the South Dakota quarter page, the November Coin of the Month, and the unusual story of how North and South Dakota became states in the September Coin of the Month.
