The 50 State Quarters® Program Lesson Plans are now available on the United States Mint H.I.P. Pocket ChangeT Web site for use in your classroom!  Take a look at the lessons created specifically to celebrate the Kansas quarter:  Flower Power (K-1), Kansas Clues (2-3), and Can You See the Light? (4-6).  After that, check out the rest of these state specific plans that are FREE to download, and are available in sets designed specifically for grades K-1, 2-3 and 4-6.

Don't miss the June 2001 Coin of the Month, the Indian Head/Buffalo Nickel. This coin honors the buffalo and the American Indians. Read "Uncovering America's Heritage" to learn more about 'Custer's Last Stand', a battle that took place near the Little Big Horn River in Montana in 1876.
