Washington Quarter Lesson Plans
Overview
Do you know that we have a collection of lesson plans based on the Washington quarter?
Activity
The 50 State Quarters® Program lesson plans are now available on the United States Mint H.I.P. Pocket Change™ Web site for you to use in your classroom! Take a look at the lesson plans created specifically to celebrate the Washington quarter: Wow! Water, Trees, Fish! (K and 1), Looking at Landforms (2 and 3), and Salmon Stories (4 through 6). After that, check out the rest of these state-specific plans that are FREE to download, and are available in sets designed specifically for grades K–1, 2–3, and 4–6.
Make a "Connection"
Washington has earned the nickname "The Evergreen State" because of the abundance of evergreen trees found in the state. Have your students look at other quarter designs that feature trees, such as the 2001 Vermont quarter, the 2000 South Carolina quarter, and the 1999 Connecticut quarter.
