Beautiful Olympic Lessons
Do you know that you and your class can visit Olympic National Park? …At least virtually, if not really!
The heart of Olympic National Park is wilderness, a primeval sanctuary surrounded by ocean beaches, rain forest valleys, and glacier-capped peaks. Assign small groups of students to each report on one of the park's different environments or plant and animal groups. Use multimedia if it's available.
Can't make it to the park? Olympic's website offers brochures and handouts that provide information on a variety of park topics and a "News" section that covers current events and issues. The National Park Service also offers online classroom activities for you and your students. For more information, visit the "for teachers" section.
