Acadia
News of the Acadians
Overview
Using the Acadia National Park quarter, the students will visit the Acadia National Park website to focus on Acadia's historical development. Student groups will create a timeline of the history of Acadia, concentrating on the main people, events, and trends in its development (such as the native population, French settlement, and fur trading). Using the timelines, each group will create a newspaper depicting one event or time period. Multimedia presentations or printed newspapers will be presented to the entire class.
