September Coin of the Month—It's September and Flip the Mint Seal can't wait to show you the brand new Keelboat nickel! Come celebrate the newest coin in the Westward Journey Nickel Series and learn more about Lewis and Clark's famous expedition.

Travel Guide Quiz

Travel Guide Quiz—Think you know everything there is to know about the 50 State Quarters® Program?  Test your design knowledge to see whether you're examining your change closely enough.  Be sure to try your hand at the bonus questions regarding the new Iowa quarter obverse.  Invite your students to try this quiz on its own, or as part of the Seeing the States WebQuest!

Fun Facts—A new Fun Fact is available each month, but you don't have to settle for one fun fact at a time!  Just click on a fact at the top of any H.I.P. Pocket Change page and learn some little known stories of the United States Mint and American coinage!

Camp Coin

Inspector Collector's Coin Course—How do you become as knowledgeable as Inspector Collector about coin collecting?  By taking his brand new coin course at the H.I.P. Pocket Change Web site, of course!  Your students will discover the whos, whats, wheres, whens, and hows of coin collecting through five lessons, complete with games and activities to support and challenge their new understanding.  Be sure to check out the Coin Course at Camp Coin right away!

How To Share Your Hobby—Once your students have learned their coin colleting basics, invite them to explore some fun ways that they can share this hobby with their friends.  Invite them to take a trip through the new How To Share Your Hobby section of Inspector Collector's Coin Course.  Be sure to also explore the Sharing Your Hobby section to find ideas specifically to help adult numismatists share their hobby with young coin enthusiasts!

Westward Journey Nickel Series Lesson Plans—The Keelboat Nickel, the second nickel in the Westward Journey Nickel Series, made its premiere last month.  These new nickels commemorate the Louisiana Purchase and the journey of Lewis and Clark.  We are very excited to announce that the lesson plans designed for the new Keelboat Nickel are now available for free download!  The Westward Journey Nickel Series Lesson Plans were designed for teachers, by teachers, for grades K–12.  A Resource Guide (K–12) is also available for download.  Visit the New Nickel Lesson Plans page today!
