During the past month, new information and activities have been added to the United States Mint H.I.P. Pocket Change™ Web site.  To help you learn "What's New for You," we've listed and linked these features below.

Coin of the Month

The coin for March is a commemorative coin new in 2010. It honors the Boy Scouts of America on its 100th anniversary.

For 100 years, the Boy Scouts have been building character and serving communities. Over the years, the program was expanded to include younger boys through the Cub Scouts and, as the image on the front of the coin shows, older girls as Venturers.

Learn more about the coin’s designs and mottoes in the Coin of the Month for March.

Women’s History Month

The Congressional Gold Medal has been awarded to various women in recognition of their service, contributions, and accomplishments. As a March (Women’s History Month) activity, explore Inspector Collector’s women’s history medals collection.

Learning about these women is sure to inspire your students. So will a trip back to 1917 in the Time Machine! Visit the time during World War I when women in the United States were struggling for their right to vote.

Take the Challenge

The nation (via Treasury) is looking for one million money-smart high school students, and you can help. Teach financial literacy to students 13 to 19, then have them take an online test by April 9 as part of the National Financial Capability Challenge.

A free toolkit is offered, along with awards for the best scores and levels of participation. Get more details at challenge.treas.gov.
