During the past month, new information and activities have been added to the United States Mint H.I.P. Pocket Change™ Web site.  To help you learn "What’s New for You," we’ve listed and linked these features below.

NEW Native American $1
Coin Lesson Plans

The new 2013 Native American $1 Coin lesson plans are ready for you to use in your classroom!  The K through 8 lesson plans focus on the theme "Treaty with the Delawares of 1778" and cover skills such as using primary sources and nonfiction text features.  The lessons are available online for free.

Back to School

Here's a way to enliven and enrich your classroom this new school year:  incorporate free features from the United States Mint.  Our Back to School 2013 page includes coin-centric lesson plans and lots of teacher resources and student activities.

Lewis & Clark Birthdays

The birthdays of Meriwether Lewis and William Clark were both in August. Clark was born on August 1, 1770, and Lewis on August 18, 1774.

Expand your students' knowledge of the Louisiana Purchase, Native American cultures, the importance of the keelboat and other aspects of Lewis and Clark's famous journey by exploring the Westward Journey Nickel Series lesson plans for grades K through 12.
