During the past month, new information and activities have been added to the United States Mint H.I.P. Pocket Change™ Web site.  To help you learn "What’s New for You," we’ve listed and linked these features below.

Black History Month

Celebrate Black History Month this February with Inspector Collector.  Visit the Medal Mania page and share the collection of Congressional gold medals awarded to famous African-Americans with your students.

Presidents' Day

How did it come to be that we will celebrate Presidents' Day on February 17th this year?  Have your students read about this special day's history and find related links on this page devoted to Presidents' Day.

Also, be sure to download the free lesson plans and resource materials related to the Presidential $1 Coin Program.  It's a great way for students to learn more about the country's history and heritage.

Winter Olympics

The 2014 Winter Olympics begin on February 7th in Sochi, Russia.  Invite your students to see a collection of Olympiad commemorative coins and to get into the Olympic spirit by playing the Winter Coin Olympics game.

Making Cents

Invite your students to read the winter issue of Making Cents, the "quarterly" e-newsletter.  They can see what's new this winter and solve the winter puzzle.
