Over the past month, new content has been added to the United States Mint H.I.P. Pocket Change Web site.  To help you learn about "What's New For You," links to this new content are listed below.


Celebrate Mother's Day—Invite your students to visit our Games page and play Plinky's Create-a-Card to make a special card for mom.  Be sure to also ask them which coin features a famous mother and son image on the front.  Have students visit our Coin Curricula page to check their answer!

May Coin of the Month—Join Nero the Mint Police Dog as he proudly presents the newest coin design in the 50 State Quarters® Program...the Nebraska quarter reverse!  Learn all about this coin and its connection to Nebraska's history by reading the May Coin of the Month article.  Be sure to also check out the accompanying Teacher Feature featuring the Nebraska quarter lesson plans.

Making Cents—The latest edition of this "quarterly" H.I.P. Pocket Change online newsletter has hit the Web.  Read it to learn all about Time Machine Era 6 (Civil War 1863), a birthday celebration for the United States Mint at Denver—including a time capsule, information about financial literacy month, and the Nebraska quarter.  Be sure to test yourself to see how much you learned with the Making Cents Spring 2006 Crossword Puzzle!

State Quarter Day in the Classroom—Learn all about the launch of the Nebraska quarter, the 37th quarter in the 50 State Quarters Program that took place in the capital city of Lincoln on April 7.  Examine all of the fun classroom activity ideas that H.I.P.
