For July's Coin of the Month, Nero introduces our 18th President, Ulysses S. Grant, a man famous for his military contributions during the Civil War and establishing Yellowstone, our first national park.  The Grant $1Coin is the July Coin of the Month.

Independence Day

Help your students learn about this special day by visiting our Independence Day page.  Learn about ratification of the Declaration of Independence and then brush up on your trivia.  Take the Fourth of July Trivia Quiz on fun facts about signers of the Declaration and related events.

Did you know that July is National Park and Recreation Month?  Learn more about our national parks and other national sites on the America the Beautiful Quarters® Program information page, where you can find background information on the program, a map of site locations, and a schedule showing the order in which the coins will be released.

Visit the America the Beautiful Quarters Program Lesson Plans page for lesson plan ideas.  Test your national park knowledge by playing the 2011 America the Beautiful Quarters Game, "Quick on the Draw."
