The United States Mint America the Beautiful Quarters™
Bulk Purchase Program

The United States Mint is now offering America the Beautiful Quarters coins for purchase in bulk bag quantities.  The minimum quantity is one (1) bulk bag, which consists of 200,000 coins valued at $50,000 total.  In addition to a three percent processing fee per bag, the purchaser arranges its own pickup from the United States Mint at Denver or Philadelphia.

Why is the United States Mint offering these coins through its Bulk Purchase Program?
Recent economic conditions have led to an oversupply of prior year-dated quarters in the banking system.  As a result, businesses relying solely on the banking system may be unable to obtain large quantities of America the Beautiful Quarters coins on a regular basis.  This program provides an option to those interested in obtaining America the Beautiful Quarters in volume.
Why is the United States Mint charging a three percent processing fee?
There are additional costs associated with processing orders through this sales channel.  Those costs include labor (material handling and order processing) and non-returnable bulk bags and steel pallets that are required to secure the coins during shipment.  These costs are above the normal costs of conducting business with the Federal Reserve Banks.
How do I pay for the coins?
The quarters may be paid for only by bank wire funds transfer.
Are there any special requirements for pickup?
A properly licensed commercial carrier is required to pick up coinage from the United States Mint.  The company must arrange clearance from the United States Mint facility for the truck and driver prior to establishing a pickup date.
Will the coins be available through bulk purchase for the entire 12 years of the America the Beautiful Quarters Program?
There is no guarantee that the United States Mint will offer these coins for bulk purchase throughout the life of the America the Beautiful Quarters Program.  The agency, however, does intend to offer them through this sales channel as long as there is sufficient demand.
Will the United States Mint offer the quarters in smaller quantities?
No, not through the America the Beautiful Quarters Bulk Purchase Program.  Please refer to our online catalog, www.usmint.gov/catalog, for individual product options, including collectible 100-coin bags and two-roll sets of America the Beautiful Quarters coins available at numismatic prices.
When will the coins be available?
Orders will be processed up to one (1) week prior to the release date of each new quarter.  Orders will be processed in the order in which they are received.  Arrangements for retrieval on the day of release may be made after confirmation of the bank wire funds transfer.
When can I pick up the coins I ordered?
Once the funds are transferred to, and confirmed by, the United States Mint, instructions for transportation will be provided.  Coins will be released to bulk purchasers on the Federal Reserve Bank release date in the order in which they were placed.
Can I order previously released coins once the United States Mint has stopped shipping that specific design to the Federal Reserve Bank?
Orders for previously released coins will be accepted as long as unassigned inventory exists.  The United States Mint may produce additional coins to satisfy orders throughout the year for the first few designs if time and resources permit; however, there is no guarantee, and orders may be refused.  As the end of the calendar year approaches, flexibility in supplying previously released quarters diminishes.  Additionally, Federal Reserve Bank orders will take precedence over the bulk purchase orders, which may affect the United States Mint's ability to fill new orders for previously released coins.
Can I pick up "P" and "D" mint mark coins at the same facility?
No.  The coins will only be available from the facility at which they were minted.
How much does a bulk bag weigh?
One bulk bag weighs approximately 2,700 pounds, which includes the weight of the metal pallet(s) and bulk bag(s).
How do I order the quarters in bulk?
Inquiries for acquiring coins through the America the Beautiful Quarters Bulk Purchase Program should be e-mailed to atbbulk@usmint.treas.gov.  Order instructions will be provided once the customer is verified.
