Visiting the United States Mint at Denver, Colorado

Welcome to the United States Mint Tour Reservation System. Before you begin making a reservation, please note the following:

Reservations

Reservations are required for all tours.

Tours are free. Guided tours are 45 minutes in length. Tours start every 90 minutes beginning at 8 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. Monday through Thursday (excluding federal holidays). We encourage you to make your reservation as early as possible since a limited number of tours are available. General tour information: 303-405-4761.

Please be aware that tours may be canceled without prior notice.

Tours for Individuals and Families (15 or fewer)

Reservations for individuals or small groups of up to 15 people may be scheduled up to three months in advance.

Special Needs

Groups with special needs are asked to arrange a tour by calling 303-405-4759.

Sign language interpreters are available by special arrangement. Please call 303-405-4759 for more information.

Large Group Tours (16 or more)

Large group tours may be arranged up to three months in advance by calling 303-405-4759.

Tours are not recommended for children under 7 years of age.

Free Education and Outreach Programs

The United States Mint offers a free speakers bureau to local schools and groups in the community. The programs can cover a wide range of topics. These programs can be tailored to meet your group's specific interest. To arrange for a speaker please call 303-405-4755.

Instructions for Visiting the United States Mint at Denver

You must be at the tour entrance 30 minutes before your tour time. Late arrivals will not be admitted.

Security Requirements

All visitors are subject to a security screening to include metal detection and X-ray examination of hand-carried items. The United States Mint reserves the right to deny access to anyone at any time.

Permitted items:

  • A palm-sized wallet/change purse that will fit in your pocket
  • Cameras/cell phones (must be turned off before entering the building)
  • Medical items necessary for the safety and well-being of the visitor

Prohibited items include, but are not limited to:

  • Handbags, purses, fanny packs, tote bags, backpacks and packages
  • Strollers
  • Food, drinks, tobacco products, lighters and matches
  • Weapons, including pocket knives and personal protective devices such as pepper spray

The United States Mint does NOT provide storage for any items.

Photography inside the building is prohibited.

Gift Shop

The gift shop is next to the visitor's entrance and is open from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday through Thursday (closed on federal holidays). Sales Information: 303-572-9500.

Parking and Directions

The United States Mint does not provide parking. Public lots and meters are available in the area. Please allow extra time to find parking.

From I-25, take the Colfax Avenue exit and go east on West Colfax, away from the mountains; you should see the gold dome of the State Capitol Building to the east. The United States Mint is 1.5 miles east of I-25 on the right side of the street between Delaware and Cherokee Streets.
