ROUTINE USE DISCLOSURES

Any changes to the Mint's 'Routine Uses' of personal information listed under U.S. Mint Disclosures below are also to be published in the Federal Register. Users of our recruiting site should also read the U.S. Office of Personnel Management disclosures section below and as published by OPM in the Federal Register from time to time.

U.S. MINT DISCLOSURES

For general correspondence, for information (including third-party information) collected from My Account Members, and for information collected from anyone who makes online purchases, requests newsletters or notices from the United States Mint:

Parties to whom we disclose information may include: (1) appropriate Federal, state, local or foreign agencies responsible for investigating or prosecuting the violations of, or for enforcing or implementing, a statute, rule, regulation, order, or license; (2) a Federal, state, or local agency, maintaining civil, criminal or other relevant enforcement information or other pertinent information, which has requested information relevant to or necessary to the requesting agency's or the bureau's hiring or retention of an employee, or issuance of a security clearance, license, contract, grant or other benefit; (3) a court, magistrate, or administrative tribunal in the course of presenting evidence, including disclosures to opposing counsel or witnesses in the course of civil discovery, litigation, or settlement negotiations, in response to a court-ordered subpoena, or in connection with criminal law proceedings; (4) foreign governments in accordance with formal or informal international agreements; (5) a Congressional office in response to an inquiry made at the request of the individual to whom the record pertains; (6) the news media in accordance with guidelines contained in 28 CFR 50.2 which relate to an agency's functions relating to civil and criminal proceedings; (7) third parties during the course of an investigation to the extent necessary to obtain information pertinent to the investigation.

For information collected from those making online purchases, or requesting newsletters or notices: In addition to the foregoing, parties to whom we disclose information may also include:

(1) accounting offices, managers, supervisors and government officials pertaining to cash receivables and debts owed the government.

For information collected from users of our recruiting site: Parties to whom we disclose information may include:

In addition to the foregoing, if you choose to use our recruiting site to provide personal information, under certain circumstances we may be required to disclose certain of your information under the Freedom of Information Act and to as otherwise required by law..

U.S. OFFICE OF PERSONNEL MANAGEMENT DISCLOSURE

Also, under certain circumstances, if you are hired through use of our recruiting site, your personal information may be disclosed by the Office of Personnel Management to training facilities; organizations deciding claims for retirement, insurance, unemployment or health benefits; officials in litigation or administrative proceedings where the government is a party; law enforcement agencies concerning violations of law or regulation; Federal agencies for statistical reports and studies; officials of labor organizations recognized by law in connection with representing employees; Federal agencies or other sources requesting information for Federal agencies in connection with hiring or retaining, security clearances, security or suitability investigations; classifying jobs, contracting, or issuing licenses, grants, or other benefits; public or private organizations including news media that grant or publicize employee recognition and awards; and the Merit Systems Protection Board, the Office of Special Counsel, the Equal Employment Opportunity Commission, the Federal Labor Relations Authority, the National Archives, the Federal Acquisitions Institute, and congressional offices in connection with their official functions.

Under certain circumstances, if you are hired through use of our recruiting site, OPM may also give personal information from your records to: prospective nonfederal employers concerning tenure of employment, civil service status, length of service, and date and nature of action for separation as shown on personnel action forms of specifically identified individuals; requesting organizations or individuals concerning the home address and other information on those who might have contracted an illness or been exposed to a health hazard; authorized Federal and non-federal agencies for use in computer matching; spouses or dependent children asking whether the employee has changed from self-and-family to self-only health benefits enrollment; individuals working on a contract, service, grant, cooperative agreement or job for the Federal government; non-agency members of an agency's performance or other panel; and agency-appointed representatives of employees concerning information issued to the employee about fitness-for-duty or agency-filed disability retirement procedures.
