2013 United States Mint Presidential $1 Coin Proof Set Sales Open February 14
WASHINGTON - Collectors may begin ordering the 2013 United States Mint Presidential $1 Coin Proof Set (Product Code PE3) on February 14, 2013, at noon Eastern Time (ET). The set contains four proof quality Presidential $1 Coins from the United States Mint at San Francisco. This year the Presidential $1 Coins honor Presidents William McKinley, Theodore Roosevelt, William Howard Taft, and Woodrow Wilson with their portraits on the obverse (heads side).
Each Presidential $1 Coin has a common reverse (tails side) design featuring a striking rendition of the Statue of Liberty. The coins have large, dramatic artwork, as well as edge-incused inscriptions of the year of minting or issuance, E PLURIBUS UNUM, and the mint mark. The motto IN GOD WE TRUST appears on the obverse (heads side) of the coin.
This year the coin lens in the United States Mint Presidential $1 Coin Proof Set is packaged in a new outer carton. Images on the front of the carton include line art of the Presidents, along with a "ghosted" image of the White House. The images on the back of the carton include the portraits of the Presidents with a corresponding coin image.
