United States Mint to Accept Orders for Civil Rights Act of 1964 Commemorative Coin January 2

WASHINGTON - The United States Mint will begin accepting orders for the 2014 Civil Rights Act of 1964 Silver Dollar on January 2, 2014, at noon Eastern Time (ET). 

Public Law 110-451 authorizes the bureau to mint and issue silver dollar coins in commemoration of the 50th anniversary of the enactment of the Civil Rights Act of 1964.

The 2014 Civil Rights Act of 1964 Silver Dollar will be available in both proof and uncirculated qualities.  Pricing is as follows:

The United States Mint will also offer the Civil Rights Act of 1964 Tell Your Story Set later in the year.  The set will include a space for the giver, recipient, a family member or friend to document their personal stories.  It allows them to reflect on their participation in the events leading up to, or how they have been affected by, the passage of the Civil Rights Act of 1964.

Mintage for the Civil Rights Act of 1964 Commemorative Coin is limited to 350,000 coins across all product options.  Customer demand will determine the ratio or proof to uncirculated coins produced. 

The United States Mint accepts orders at its online catalog at http://www.usmint.gov/catalog and at 1-800-USA-MINT (872-6468).  Hearing- and speech-impaired customers with TTY equipment may order by calling 1-888-321-MINT (6468).  Customers should add $4.95 to all domestic orders for shipping and handling.  There are no household or order limits.
