2014 National Baseball Hall of Fame Commemorative Coin Launch

The United States Mint will launch the 2014 Baseball Hall of Fame Commemorative Coin at a press conference with U.S. Sen. Kirsten Gillibrand, U.S. Rep. Richard Hanna, Treasurer of the United States Rosie Rios and representatives from the Baseball Hall of Fame. These are the first curved coins issued by the United States Mint.  The coin features the key elements of our national pastime with an obverse (heads) design depicting a baseball glove the reverse (tails) design depicting a baseball.

The National Baseball Hall of Fame Commemorative Coin Act (Public Law 112-152) authorizes a three-coin program of $5 gold, $1 silver, and half-dollar clad coins with a common obverse design emblematic of the game of baseball.
