Beginning next year, the United States Mint will issue quarters featuring national parks and other national sites under the "America's Beautiful National Parks Quarter Dollar Coin Act of 2008." Five times a year you will see a new reverse design emblematic of a national park or site. The sites selected for this exciting new series of quarters are representative of each state, the District of Columbia and U.S. territories—Puerto Rico, Guam, American Samoa, the U.S. Virgin Islands and the Northern Mariana Islands. An image of George Washington will remain on the obverse. Watch for an official announcement of the 56 selected national parks and sites, and the order of their release later this summer!
