Robert A. Telfor joined the U.S. Mint Police as the Chief of Police at the Denver Mint in 2011.

Chief Telfor joined the U.S. Army, Military Police Corps in 1984, and retired from active duty as a First Sergeant in 2004. His experience in the MP Corp included Nuclear Physical Security, Protective Services, Critical Infrastructure/Site Security, Undercover and Counter Drug Operations, Law Enforcement Patrol Activities and Investigations, and several Peace Keeping, and Combat Deployments throughout the world.

Upon retirement from the Army in 2004, Robert served in the Department of the Army Civilian Police as a Lieutenant at Ft Polk, Louisiana. He was promoted to Patrol Branch Chief and later, to the Deputy Chief of Police at Ft Polk.

Chief Telfor is a proactive member of the American Legion and is avid outdoorsman.
