Learn the rich history of the United States Mint and how we produce billions of coins each year for the American public with a free, guided tour of the Denver facility.

While in Denver, be sure to visit the Mint’s Gift Shop. The Gift Shop is open to the public and offers a great selection of coins and one-of-a-kind souvenirs.

Tour Tickets

Tours are in high demand and extremely limited. Submitting a request does not guarantee tickets. You will receive an email confirmation with attached tour tickets if your preferred tour is available. Tours will be scheduled on a first-come, first-served basis based upon your preferences and availability. If your preferred dates/times are unavailable, we will add your name to our wait list and you will be notified when tours become available.

Email Ticket Requests

Download the tour request form (PDF) and email it to DenverMintTours@usmint.treas.gov. Indicate on the form the date(s) and tour time(s) you have interest in. Tours are available Monday – Thursday, excluding federal holidays at 8 a.m., 9:30 a.m., 12:30 p.m., and 2 p.m.

Read through the instructions and list of prohibited items below before emailing your tour request form. We are currently scheduling tours through August 18, 2022. Any requests after this date will be added to our wait list. You may request up to 5 tickets per person and all visitors must be 7 years and older. Tours may be canceled without prior notice.

Tour Visitors Policy

All visitors must present a ticket to gain entry. Lost tickets cannot be replaced and are non-transferable. All visitors must be at the tour entrance located on Cherokee Street 30 minutes before their scheduled tour time. Late arrivals will not be admitted. The Mint does not provide parking, but there are meters and pay lots within a few blocks of the Mint.

Tour participants must comply with all COVID requirements (including but not limited to mask wearing) in effect at the United States Mint at the time of the tour.

Tours are subject to cancellation, possibly with little or no notice, when circumstances warrant building closure or other cancellation at the United States Mint’s sole discretion. Please plan accordingly. Thank you for your understanding.

There is an extensive list of prohibited items, including all purses and bags. The Mint does NOT provide lockers or storage for any items. All visitors are subject to a security screening, including metal detection and X-ray examination of hand-carried items. The United States Mint reserves the right to deny access to anyone at any time.

Permitted items:

  • A palm-sized wallet that fits in your pocket
  • Powered off cameras/cell phones. Photography is prohibited while on the tour
  • Umbrellas, walkers, wheelchairs
  • Empty water bottles
  • Medical items necessary for the safety and well-being of the visitor

Prohibited items include, but are not limited to:

  • Handbags, purses, fanny packs, tote bags, backpacks, packages, and bags
  • Food and drinks
  • Lighters and matches
  • Weapons, including pocket knives and personal protective devices such as pepper spray

Tour Hours

Days: Monday-Thursday (excluding observed federal holidays). There may be days that tours are not available.

Tours will be closed on the following days:

  • August 22, 2022 through September 5, 2022
  • October 10, 2022
  • November 24, 2022
  • December 26, 2022 through January 1, 2023

Tour Hours: 8 a.m. – 2 p.m. Tour times and availability vary each day.

Duration: Approximately 45 minutes

Please be aware that coin production schedules vary. Coins may not be in production during your tour. Tours may be canceled without prior notice.

Special Requirements

The Mint facility is wheelchair accessible and complies with the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA).

The Gift Shop entrance is on Cherokee Street, between West Colfax Avenue and West 14th Avenue.

All visitors must be at the tour entrance located on Cherokee Street 30 minutes before their scheduled tour time. Late arrivals will not be admitted. Please allow yourself additional time for parking at meters or public lots. No curbside drop-offs or pickups are allowed around the Mint facility. Tour tickets are required for all tours, advance tickets and reservations are not available.

From I-25 North

  • Exit at 210A for US-40/US-287/Colfax Avenue
  • Turn Right onto W. Colfax Avenue (I-70-BL E) towards the gold dome of the State Capitol
  • The United States Mint is approximately 1.2 miles on W Colfax Avenue on the right between Delaware and Cherokee Streets

From I-25 South

  • Exit at 210A for US-40/US-287/Colfax Avenue
  • Turn Left onto W. Colfax Avenue (I-70-BL E) towards the gold dome of the State Capitol
  • The United States Mint is approximately 1.2 miles on W Colfax Avenue on the right between Delaware and Cherokee Streets
