Lady Liberty triumphantly strides towards the rising sun on this 99.9% silver proof coin, featuring acclaimed American artist Adolph A. Weinman’s original design, enhanced by cutting edge minting technology. This “Walking Liberty” design first appeared on the half-dollar from 1916-1946, passing through American hands that navigated two World Wars and the nation’s transformation to a world power.
Redesigned in 2021, the reverse depicts an Eagle holding a branch from our national tree, the Oak, as if to add it to a nest. American Eagle Silver Coins also include enhanced security features, such as a reeded edge variation.
Introduced in 1986, the popular and now-iconic American Eagle Silver Proof Coins are collector versions of the official United States Mint American Eagle Silver Bullion Coins. These popular silver collectibles are struck at the West Point Mint and have the “W” mint mark.
The classic Walking Liberty design by Adolph A. Weinman featured on the coin’s obverse (heads) has long been a collector favorite. It depicts Liberty in full stride, enveloped in folds of the flag, with her right hand extended and branches of laurel and oak in her left. Refreshed in 2021, thanks to technological advancements in the design and minting process, it now encompasses some of Weinman’s original details that were not previously possible. Inscriptions are “LIBERTY,” “2022,” and “IN GOD WE TRUST.”
The reverse (tails) design features an eagle as it approaches a landing, carrying an oak branch, as if to add it to a nest. Inscriptions are “UNITED STATES OF AMERICA,” “E PLURIBUS UNUM,” “1 OZ. FINE SILVER,” and “ONE DOLLAR.”
The coins’ added security features include a reeded edge variation.
The coin is encapsulated and placed in an elegant black presentation box adorned with the United States Mint seal, with an outer sleeve incorporating an image of the reverse coin design. It is accompanied by a certificate of authenticity bearing an image of the obverse.
