American Women Quarters 2022 Ornament - Nina Otero-Warren
Mintage Limit is the total number of a coin manufactured across all products. (For example, a coin may be available in rolls and in our annual sets).
Product Limit is the number of a coin made available in the individual product.
Household Order Limit In cases where we have limited-mintage products (e.g., legislatively mandated or Mint established production or mintage limits), the United States Mint may impose order or household order limits. Order limits help us ensure that we provide fair purchase opportunities to the broadest audience possible. As we monitor our products, limits may be implemented, adjusted, or removed at our discretion.
This collectable keepsake ornament is the latest offering from the American Women Quarters™ Program!
From 2022-2025, this historic program celebrates the accomplishments and contributions made by prominent women of the United States. All of the honorees—representing ethnically, racially, and geographically diverse backgrounds—distinguished themselves in a wide variety of fields and endeavors, including suffrage, civil rights, abolition, government, humanities, science, space, the arts, and many others.
Nina Otero-Warren was a courageous trailblazer with an exceptional ability to advocate for women and children and Hispanic and Native American communities. Her greatest strengths were her ability to convince predominantly male power brokers to support changes in favor of New Mexican women. As the first woman superintendent of Santa Fe public schools, she strove to improve education for all New Mexicans and worked to advance bicultural education and preserve cultural practices among the State’s Hispanic and Native American communities.
This keepsake ornament is exquisitely designed and hand-crafted in solid brass with a rhodium finish. The intricate design elements honor Otero-Warren’s activism for women’s right to vote and the improvement of bicultural education. The Yucca Flowers were inspired by the cultural heritage of New Mexico, and the design borrows colors and elements of the National Women Party’s ratification flag. The ballot box represents her fight for suffrage in New Mexico, as well as being the first Hispanic American to run for Congress.
Framed by the ornament is a 2022 quarter with the reverse (tails) design featuring Nina Otero-Warren flanked by three individual Yucca flowers—New Mexico’s State flower. Inscriptions are “UNITED STATES OF AMERICA,” “QUARTER DOLLAR,” “E PLURIBUS UNUM,” “NINA OTERO-WARREN,” and “VOTO PARA LA MUJER,” the Spanish counterpart for the suffragist slogan “Votes for Women.” The obverse (heads side) of the quarter is not visible. A matching ribbon is attached to the top of the ornament for easy display.
This one-of-a-kind ornament is beautifully protected by matching packaging with NINA OTERO-WARREN, 2022, and the American Women Quarters logo embossed on the top of the box. It includes a certificate of authenticity, along with an explanation of the ornament’s design elements, and a brief biography of the honoree.
Honor the courageous steps and accomplishments of women who have created positive change in our Nation’s history. We invite you to continue your collection of the American Women Quarters with these exclusive and limited keepsakes!
