The Civil Air Patrol 1.5” Bronze Medal is a miniature bronze replica of the congressional Gold Medal awarded at the U.S. Capitol Building on December 10, 2014, for the extraordinary service of the Civil Air Patrol (CAP) during World War II.

The obverse features two CAP volunteers–one male and one female–watching the skies. In the background, a tanker is escorted by CAP planes overhead. Inscriptions are “CIVIL AIR PATROL” and “1941-1945.”

The reverse depicts a partial laurel wreath, representing honor and service, surrounding CAP insignia’s. Inscriptions are “HONOR,” “CIVILIAN VOLUNTEERS WHO FLEW ARMED & HUMANITARIAN MISSIONS,” and “ACT OF CONGRESS 2014.”
