May 2007

May Coin of the Month:  Join Inspector Collector as he learns more about the John Adams Presidential $1 Coin.  John Adams was the second President of the United States and the first President to live in the White House.  You can also go to The Coins Are Coming to learn more about the Presidential $1 coin that honors Adams and his accomplishments.

Presidential $1 Coin Program Lesson Plans:  Download free lesson plans and access resource materials related to the new Presidential $1 Coin program.  You can also have your students see all four of the Presidential $1 coins for 2007 and learn more about each of the Presidents they commemorate under "The Coins Are Coming."  A separate page tells all about the Statue of Liberty, featured on the coin's reverse.

Memorial Day:  Be sure to visit the Memorial Day page to learn more about why and how we celebrate this special day, find out what's important about the town of Waterloo, and see some of the coins and medals that honor military people who have died serving our country.

Celebrate Mother's Day:  Invite your students to visit our Games page and make a special card for Mom using Plinky's Create-a-Card (printer required).  You can also ask them which coin features a famous mother and son on the front, then have them visit our Dollar Coin page to check their answer!
