Can you believe i's already 2008?  During the past month, new information and activities have been added to the United States Mint H.I.P. Pocket Change™ Web site.  To help you learn "Wha's New for You," we've listed and linked these features below.

January Coin of the Month—Join Nero and learn more about the great state of Oklahoma.  Oklahoma is the 46th state in the 50 State Quarters® Program and features the state bird, the scissortail flycatcher and the state flower, the Indian blanket.  Find out more about how this unique quarter design came to be chosen.

The Coins Are Coming—Be among the first to see the 2008 quarters of the 50 State Quarters Program: the Oklahoma, New Mexico, Arizona, Alaska, and Hawaii quarters!

50 State Quarters® Program Lesson Plans—Take a look at these lessons, created specifically to celebrate the Oklahoma quarter:  "Symbols in My Eyes" (K and 1), "Spy the Flycatcher" (2 and 3), and "Oh, the Regions!" (4–6).  After that, check out the rest of the state-specific plans that are FREE to download, and are available in sets designed for grades K and 1, 2 and 3, and 4 through 6.
