United States Mint Opens Sales for the 2012 Presidential $1 Coin Uncirculated Setâ„¢ on May 1

WASHINGTON - Collectors may begin placing their orders for the 2012 Presidential $1 Coin Uncirculated Set on May 1 at noon Eastern Time (ET).  The obverses (heads sides) of the coins in this year's set bear the dramatic portraits of Chester Arthur, Grover Cleveland - first and second terms - and Benjamin Harrison.

The 2012 Presidential $1 Coin Uncirculated Set contains eight coins - four each from the United States Mint facilities at Philadelphia ("P" mint mark) and Denver ("D" mint mark).  The reverse (tails side) of each coin features a striking rendition of the Statue of Liberty, common to all Presidential $1 Coins.  Each coin is encased in a protective, rotatable blister, allowing full visibility of the edge-incused inscriptions E PLURIBUS UNUM, 2012 and the mint mark.  The inscription IN GOD WE TRUST is on the obverse.  The coins are mounted in an attractive folder that includes brief biographical sketches and portraits of each President.

The 2012 Presidential $1 Coin Uncirculated Set is priced at $16.95.  In addition to the United States Mint's secure Web site, http://www.usmint.gov/catalog, customers may also order at 1-800-USA-MINT (872-6468).  Hearing- and speech-impaired customers with TTY equipment may order at 1-888-321-MINT (6468).  Please add $4.95 to all domestic orders for shipping and handling.

Collectors who wish to receive automatic shipments of the Presidential $1 Coin Uncirculated Set, and other select products, may enroll in the United States Mint's Online Subscription Program.  Information about this convenient shopping method is available at http://www.usmint.gov/catalog
