Kristie McNally joined the United States Mint (Mint) in September 2014 and now serves in the role of Acting Director with full oversight of six Mint locations. Kristie leads a dynamic team of senior leaders with functional roles that include Manufacturing, Sales and Marketing, Finance, Information Technology, Strategy and Performance, Public Affairs, Design Management, U.S. Mint Police, and Legislative and Intergovernmental Affairs.
Prior to her role as Acting Director, Kristie held several key roles which includes, Chief Financial Officer, Deputy Chief Financial Officer (DCFO), and Controller at the Mint. Kristie has over 25 years of manufacturing operation experience and has worked for two government entities that are self-funding, operating off their own profits at no cost to the public.
Kristie has an extensive career in Federal service, beginning in 2001 as an Accountant with Federal Prison Industries (FPI) at the Federal Correctional Institution in Milan, Michigan., where she supervised inmates performing accounting duties while fulfilling obligations as a correctional officer. In 2005, Kristie was transferred to the FPI’s Central Office in Washington, DC, where she held several positions, including Operating Accountant, Industrial Specialist, Chief of Corporate Reporting, and DCFO. Kristie is a graduate of the Federal Law Enforcement Training Center and served 13 years as a Federal Law Enforcement Officer before joining the Mint.
Having graduated Cum Laude from Northwood University with a Bachelor of Business Administration with dual majors in Banking & Finance and Management, Kristie has a strong educational background. She completed the Senior Executive Fellows Program at the Harvard Kennedy School of Executive Education and the Leadership for a Democratic Society at the Federal Executive Institute, and she received an Executive Women in Leadership certificate through Cornell University. Kristie also is Lean Six Sigma Green Belt certified.
She lives in Spotsylvania, Virginia with her husband and their two children.
