The Georgia State Quarter is the fourth coin in the 50 State Quarters Program. The U.S. Mint released it on July 19, 1999 as the fourth quarter of the year.
The obverse (heads) design features the familiar image of George Washington by John Flanagan, used on the quarter since 1932.
The reverse (tails) design shows a peach (the state symbol), branches of a live oak tree (the state tree), and the state motto "Wisdom, Justice, Moderation" over an outline of the state.
