Background

The Connecticut Tercentenary Half Dollar was released in 1935 to commemorate the 300th anniversary of the colony's founding.

Recipient Organization

The legislation stated: "Such coins may be disposed of at par or at a premium by said Commission and all proceeds shall be used in furtherance of the Connecticut Tercentenary Commission projects."

Characteristics

The obverse design features an eagle with folded wings standing on a rock.

The reverse features The Charter Oak.
