The United States Mint first struck the Morgan Silver Dollar from 1878 – 1904 and again in 1921. This coin circulated through American hands during the Nation’s westward expansion, industrial revolution, and ultimate rise to prominence on the world stage. The Morgan Dollar was designed by Mint Chief Engraver George T. Morgan (1845 – 1925) and minted from 1878 to 1904 and again in 1921. This iconic silver dollar represented the country’s westward expansion and industrial development in the late 19th century. Created using modern technology and U.S. Mint historical assets, this new Morgan Dollar has a beautiful uncirculated finish.
The obverse (heads) features Liberty in profile. A cap, flora, and crown incused with the word “LIBERTY” adorn her head, while 13 stars, “E PLURIBUS UNUM,” and the year of issuance encircle her. The reverse (tail) depicts an eagle with outstretched wings clasping arrows and an olive branch and accompanied by a wreath. Reverse inscriptions are “UNITED STATES OF AMERICA,” “IN GOD WE TRUST,” and “ONE DOLLAR.”
The coin is encapsulated and placed in a stylish clamshell within an elegant black presentation box. The box is adorned with the official United States Mint seal; the outer sleeve incorporates an image of the obverse coin design. This high-quality coin is accompanied by a certificate of authenticity bearing an image of the obverse.
