The U.S. Mint participated in the 2024 National Money Show, held on March 14-16 in Colorado Springs, Colorado. The Honorable Ventris C. Gibson, 40th Director of the United States Mint, and employees from its Denver and Washington facilities were onsite at the snow-covered Broadmoor for the three-day event hosted by the American Numismatic Association (ANA).

Making her second appearance at the annual show, Director Gibson once again participated in the opening ceremony. In her remarks, Director Gibson stated, “As we continue to capture the stories of our nation, our goal is to promote a greater interest in coins. Our approach to this is to adopt a posture that is both forward leaning & forward-thinking. Our 2024 coins represent the stories of our nation’s heroes and its SHE-roes.”

Attendees had an opportunity to view and purchase many of these products. Available throughout the show were the newly released 2024 Proof Set, 2024 Native American $1 Coin, and Harriet Tubman Commemorative Coins. Featured on display and available for pre-order were the Greatest Generation Commemorative Coins. Other products such as collectable ornaments and military medals were also on sale.

An added bonus of participating in coin shows is getting to interact with our numismatic community. Both Director Gibson and a member of the Mint’s outreach team were available daily to meet with collectors of all ages and answer questions about the organization and products.

Educating the next generation of coin collectors is always the Mint’s goal. On the final day, Director Gibson talked with approximately 40 young numismatists, many of whom participate in scouting programs. She also presented each attendee with a 2024 Rev. Dr. Pauli Murray Quarter, a 2024 American Women Quarters™ Collector Coin Board, and a Coin Discovery Set. The Mint’s education team provided attendees with additional resources to learn more about the Mint.
