The United States Mint (Mint) joined Gettysburg National Military Park and the Gettysburg Foundation on October 21, 2026, to celebrate the release of the Gettysburg Address Quarter, the fifth and final quarter in the 2026 Semiquincentennial Circulating Coin Program. More than 1,000 attendees gathered in Gettysburg, Pennsylvania, enjoying sunny skies and comfortable fall temperatures for the historic occasion.

The ceremony brought together coin collectors, history enthusiasts, families, and community members to honor President Abraham Lincoln's Gettysburg Address and its enduring legacy. Mint Director Paul Hollis and Treasurer of the United States Brandon Beach participated in the celebration and enjoyed meeting with guests throughout the event.

"There's no more fitting place to unveil the Gettysburg Address Quarter than here," said Treasurer Beach, reflecting on the significance of commemorating Lincoln's historic speech at Gettysburg.

Director Hollis emphasized the lasting impact of the new quarter and its role in sharing American history with future generations.

"These coins will tell our nation's story forever," said Director Hollis. "The coins will not only serve as conversation starters, but they will be a keepsake quarter. They'll be a coin that I hope will connect families with the story of our nation."

Attendees received commemorative coin boards featuring the new Gettysburg Address Quarter, offering a special memento of the occasion. ACNB Bank also hosted a coin exchange, exchanging $30,000 in new quarters and giving visitors an opportunity to add the coin to their collections.

As the final quarter in the 2026 Semiquincentennial Circulating Coin Program, the Gettysburg Address Quarter commemorates the principles of liberty, unity, and sacrifice that have shaped the Nation throughout its 250-year history.

The Gettysburg Address Quarter features a portrait of President Abraham Lincoln on the obverse (heads), capturing the weight of the Civil War through his weathered expression and determined gaze. The reverse (tails) depicts two clasped hands, symbolizing Lincoln's efforts to preserve the Union, along with the inscription "A NEW NATION CONCEIVED IN LIBERTY," a passage from his historic address.

The Mint thanks Gettysburg National Military Park, the Gettysburg Foundation, ACNB Bank, and everyone who helped make this memorable celebration possible. For more information about the Mint’s Semiquincentennial Coin and Medal Program or to purchase related products, visit our website.
