stack of shipping boxesThe holiday season is approaching. What does this mean for you, as a loyal United States Mint customer and your orders—both new and existing?

During a “normal” year, the Mint releases products spread throughout the entire year to provide our customers with the highest level of service. Early in 2021, delays—as a result of COVID-19—impacted the Mint’s published product schedule. The release of several products were pushed back. In addition, bot activity this past spring had a negative impact on our website, and the Mint delayed the sale of several products in June while we implemented stronger bot control process.

As a result of these circumstances, our 2021 product releases were compressed. Due to the popular demand of these products, there was an extraordinary amount of volume. Furthermore, COVID-19 impacts have left both the Fulfillment and Call Centers short-staffed.

All of these factors have put an enormous strain on our Call Center and Fulfillment Center, which is why you may have experienced longer-than-normal wait times on the phone, for an email response, and/or delays with your order being fulfilled.

Once orders leave the Fulfillment center and are transferred to our carriers, the Mint cannot control when that order is updated online or delivered. As you may be aware, national delays exist in logistic channels across all carriers due to COVID-related shutdowns and limitations around the world.

The Mint advises its customers to place holiday orders as early as possible. Visit the following carrier websites to familiarize yourself with how these logistic channel delays impacts delivery of current and future Mint orders:

Please know the Mint is working hard to come up with creative ways to expedite shipping and to increase Call Center resources. We are making every attempt to process and ship your order, and respond to your phone calls and emails as quickly as possible.

Thank you in advance for your patience and for being a valued Mint customer.
