WASHINGTON — The United States Mint will begin accepting orders for proof and uncirculated quality Edith Roosevelt First Spouse Gold Coins on November 21 at noon Eastern Time (ET). Maximum mintage is set at 10,000 across all product options.
The coins’ obverse (heads side) was designed by United States Mint Artistic Infusion Program (AIP) Master Designer Joel Iskowitz and executed by United States Mint Sculptor–Engraver Joseph Menna. The design features Mrs. Roosevelt’s portrait and the inscriptions EDITH ROOSEVELT, IN GOD WE TRUST, LIBERTY, 2013, 26th, and 1901 – 1909.
The coins’ reverse (tails side) was designed by United States Mint AIP Associate Designer Chris Costello and sculpted by United States Mint Sculptor–Engraver Don Everhart. The design depicts the White House with a slightly off–center column and compass, representing Mrs. Roosevelt’s work to restore the White House in 1902. Inscriptions are UNITED STATES OF AMERICA, E PLURIBUS UNUM, $10, ½ OZ., and .9999 FINE GOLD.
The Edith Roosevelt First Spouse Gold Coins will be priced according to the United States Mint’s pricing structure, available at http://www.usmint.gov/catalog. The bureau will accept orders at its online catalog, http://www.usmint.gov/catalog, and at 1–800–USA–MINT (872–6468). Hearing– and speech–impaired customers with TTY equipment may order at 1–888–321–MINT (6468). A shipping and handling fee of $4.95 will be added to all domestic orders.
