2016 American Eagle One Ounce Gold Uncirculated Coin Goes on Sale April 7

WASHINGTON - The United States Mint (Mint) will accept orders for the 2016 American Eagle One Ounce Gold Uncirculated Coin (product code 16EH) starting April 7 at noon Eastern Time (ET).

Pricing for the coin is in accordance with the Mint pricing schedule for gold coins.  These products are priced according to the range in which they appear on the United States Mint Gold Coin Pricing Grid.

Orders will be accepted at the Mint's online catalog and at 1-800-USA-MINT (872-6468).  Hearing- and speech-impaired customers with TTY equipment may order at 1-888-321-MINT (6468).  Information about shipping options is available at https://catalog.usmint.gov/customer-service/shipping.html.

The American Eagle One Ounce Gold Uncirculated Coin is one of the collector versions of the official United States Mint American Eagle Gold Bullion Coin.  The coin features a finish similar to its bullion coin counterpart, and each coin bears the "W" mint mark indicating its striking at the United States Mint at West Point.  Each coin is encapsulated in plastic and placed in a protective presentation case.  A Certificate of Authenticity is included.

The obverse (heads side) of the American Eagle One Ounce Gold Uncirculated Coin features Augustus Saint-Gaudens' full-length figure of Liberty with flowing hair, holding a torch in her right hand and an olive branch in her left.  The coin's reverse (tails side), by sculptor Miley Busiek, features a male eagle carrying an olive branch flying above a nest containing a female eagle and eaglets.
