William H. Taft was the 27th President of the United States, serving from March 4, 1909, to March 4, 1913. Taft became Chief Justice of the United States in 1921, a position he held until just before his death in 1930.
The obverse depicts a bust of the President with the inscription “WILLIAM H. TAFT.”
