Jill Westeyn serves as the Acting Chief of Public Affairs at the United States Mint, where she oversees strategic communications and public engagement. Since joining the Mint in 2015 as a Public Affairs Specialist, she has advanced into key leadership roles, including her appointment as Deputy Chief in 2024.
A retired Master Sergeant, Jill served in the United States Air Force Band in Washington, D.C., from 2000 to 2013, performing on oboe and English horn for global dignitaries and the American public. Prior to her federal service, she managed scholarships and awards at the Air Force Association.
Jill holds a Master of Professional Studies in Public Relations and Corporate Communications from Georgetown University, a Master of Music from the University of Cincinnati, and a Bachelor of Music from the Manhattan School of Music. She is certified in Project Management and Social Media Management.
Active in her community, Jill serves on the boards of the Fairfax County Animal Shelter and Christ Presbyterian Preschool and directs the Handbell Choir at Christ Presbyterian Church. She lives in Herndon, Virginia, with her husband, their four sons, and three rescue dogs.
