The reverse depicts a symbolic heraldic American eagle clutching olive leaves in one claw and arrows in the other, representing strength and confidence. The design also depicts a shield, which is based on the Department of the Treasury Seal. The inscriptions “THE DEPARTMENT OF THE TREASURY,” “UNITED STATES OF AMERICA,” “E PLURIBUS UNUM” and “IN GOD WE TRUST” also appear on the reverse.
