Matthew Newell is a Product Design Specialist at the United States Mint. His work sits at the intersection of art, technology, and manufacturing, with a focus on turning coin and medal designs into production-ready objects.

Since joining the Mint in 2018, Matthew has worked across several areas of the design and production process, including digital sculpting support, tooling preparation, rendering, historical restoration, and new product development. He works closely with design, sculpting, tooling, and production teams to help preserve artistic intent while making sure each design can be successfully produced.

His work also includes restoring legacy designs for modern production methods and supporting the development of new Mint products. His background in the aerospace industry helped shape his approach to precision, technical detail, and practical problem-solving.
