Mint Coin Jewelry Selling Out Quickly in Annual Holiday Catalog

Proof One Ounce Gold Eagle Sold Out Proof Silver Eagle & Fractional Gold Proofs Over 90% Sold Out

Washington, D.C. — The United States Mint today announced that many of the jewelry items in the Mint’s annual fall catalogue had sold out by November 1st after only one month of sales, and that many other jewelry items appear to be headed for sellouts in the next few weeks.

“Collectors are obviously very enthusiastic about our 1999 line of coin jewelry,” said Mint Director Philip N. Diehl, “especially the new jewelry items incorporating the 50 State Quarters. Many of these items have sold out in a matter of weeks and many other items will be gone before Thanksgiving.”

The items from the fall catalogue already sold out are the:

* State Quarters Paperweight.

* U–Shaped Horseshoe Key Ring.

* Golf Divot Tool.

* Oval Leather Fob and Key Ring.

* Platinum American Eagle Pendant with Chain.

* Gold American Eagle Black Onyx Cuff Links.

* Sterling Silver Mercury Dime Earrings.

* Sterling Silver Mercury Dime Cuff Links.

Items expected to sell out in the near future include the Sterling Silver Pendant and the Platinum Eagle Bracelet.

The Mint also announced that the 1999 American Eagle Proof One Ounce coin was sold out, and that the one–half ounce, one–quarter ounce and one–tenth ounce Gold Eagle Proof Coins and the Proof Silver Eagle were each more than 90 percent sold out.

Collectors and gift–givers interested in these jewelry items should place orders as soon as possible on the Mint’s Website at www.USMINT.gov. Internet orders are exempt from the Mint’s shipping and handling charges.
