United States Mint Releases William Howard Taft Presidential $1 Coin Products July 9

WASHINGTON — The United States Mint will accept orders for rolls, bags, and boxes of William Howard Taft Presidential $1 Coins beginning July 9 at noon Eastern Time (ET). This coin marks the 27th release in the bureau’s Presidential $1 Coin Program. Available product options and their prices are as follows:

All product options contain circulating quality coins produced at either the United States Mint’s facilities at Philadelphia or Denver that have never been placed into circulation. Packaging displays the name of the President, the mint of origin (“P” or “D”), and the face value of the contents.

The obverse (heads side) of the William Howard Taft Presidential $1 Coin was designed by United States Mint Artistic Infusion Program Associate Designer Barbara Fox and executed by United States Mint Sculptor–Engraver Michael Gaudioso. The design features President Taft’s portrait and the inscriptions WILLIAM HOWARD TAFT, IN GOD WE TRUST, 27th PRESIDENT, and 1909 – 1913.

The reverse (tails side) features a rendition of the Statue of Liberty by United States Mint Sculptor–Engraver Don Everhart. The inscriptions UNITED STATES OF AMERICA and $1 appear on the coin’s reverse, while the inscriptions 2013, E PLURIBUS UNUM, and the mint of origin are incused on the edge.
