United States Mint Releases Annual Special Occasion Coin Sets

WASHINGTON — The United States Mint is accepting orders for its 2015–dated special occasion numismatic sets — the Birth Set, the United States Mint Happy Birthday Coin Set, and the United States Mint Congratulations Set. Details about each set are below.

2015 Birth Set (product code N61)
Released Jan. 13, this set is a precious memento to mark the arrival of a newborn baby. It contains the following 2015–dated proof finish coins:

  • One Kennedy half–dollar
  • The first 2015 America the Beautiful Quarters® Coin honoring Homestead National Monument of America (Nebraska)
  • One Roosevelt dime
  • One Jefferson 5–cent coin (nickel)
  • One Lincoln one–cent coin (penny)

All coins bear the “S” mint mark of the United States Mint at San Francisco and are mounted on an attractive folder. This year, the set has been modified to include larger spaces for a welcome message, baby’s day/time of the birth, length/weight, and its photograph. The frame has been enlarged to hold a 3″ x 5″ photograph. Photograph is not included. (Note: Space for a lock of baby’s hair is no longer included.) The set is priced at $19.95.

2014 United States Mint Happy Birthday Coin Set (product code N62)
Also released Jan. 13, this set includes the following proof finish coins with the “S” mint mark:

  • One Kennedy half–dollar
  • The last 2015 America the Beautiful Quarters® Coin honoring Saratoga National Historical Park (New York)
  • One Roosevelt dime
  • One Jefferson nickel
  • One Lincoln penny

The coins are encapsulated in a festively decorated folder that allows the obverse (heads) and the reverse (tails) of each coin to be seen. The front of the outer sleeve and the front of the folder bear the United States Mint logo with the words “Happy Birthday!” and “2015 United States Mint Happy Birthday Coin Set.” The packaging design includes images of gift boxes and balloons and space for a personalized message to the recipient. The set is priced at $19.95.

United States Mint Congratulations Set (product code N63)
Released noon EST today, this set is ideal for a variety of congratulatory events, including graduations, weddings, anniversaries, retirements, milestone birthdays, and more. The set contains one 2015 American Eagle One Ounce Silver Proof Coin, which is encapsulated and mounted in an attractive folder that allows the coin’s obverse and reverse to be seen. The front of the folder and the front of the outer sleeve bear the United States Mint logo with the words “Congratulations!,” “2015 United States Mint Congratulations Set,” and “American Eagle One Ounce Silver Proof Coin.” The packaging design includes images of silver and gold ribbons and space for a personalized message to the recipient. The set is priced at $50.95. Because of the variability of the precious metal markets, prices of products containing silver are subject to change.

The Certificate of Authenticity for each set is printed on the back of the folder and coin specifications are printed on the back of each sleeve.
