
Deputy Superintendent
Denver Mint
Phil Skinner joined the U.S. Mint in 2021 as the Deputy Superintendent of the Denver Mint. He previously worked at the Mint several years ago as a program analyst to improve the production lines at Mint facilities.
Apart from the Mint, Phil is a Six Sigma master black belt and started his own Lean and Six Sigma firm. He also earned a culinary degree and worked as a chef at a homeless shelter and a nonprofit restaurant. He previously worked as an interim plant manager at numerous facilities to improve operations, and as a production supervisor in the medical device industry. Prior to these jobs, he was a Captain in the U.S. Marine Corps serving as a CH-46 helicopter pilot.
Phil holds an Aeronautics degree from the U.S. Naval Academy and an MBA in Management from Boston University. He is a life-long Denver sports fan and enjoys going to Broncos games, wood-working in his shop, and cooking something new and different every night.
