David Jacobs began his San Francisco Mint career in 1999 and has served as the Plant Superintendent for the San Francisco Mint since 2015. His prior years of Mint service were spent leading multiple divisions covering a wide array of disciplines in manufacturing, engineering, and administration. David’s passion is people and he enjoys observing, interacting, and learning from everyone. Prior to working at the Mint, David worked as the Senior Design Engineer for a manufacturing plant specializing in oilfield pumps, drilling motors, and related equipment applications.

David was born in Oakland, CA and has spent his entire life residing in the San Francisco Bay Area. He earned his degree in Mechanical Engineering from CSU-Sacramento, obtained his Lean Manager Certification from Ohio State, and most recently is a graduate of the Senior Executive Fellowship program at the Harvard Kennedy School.
